# 24 — Multi-AI Provider Mode

Multi-AI Provider Mode lets administrators choose the text AI provider used by the plugin.

## What the Provider Controls

The selected text provider is used for:

- Manual article generation
- Research Queue draft generation
- Existing post SEO tools
- Generated article rewrite/improve actions
- SEO title, description, focus keyphrase and secondary keyphrases

## Supported Providers

- OpenAI
- Claude / Anthropic
- Google Gemini
- Custom OpenAI-compatible API

## Image Generation

Featured images and inline tutorial visuals are separate from text generation. Keep image generation disabled if you do not want to use an image API.

## Recommended Workflow

1. Add one provider key.
2. Save settings.
3. Verify the selected provider.
4. Generate one short draft.
5. Check the article body, SEO fields and logs.
6. Increase automation only after manual tests are successful.

## Custom API Notes

The custom provider expects an OpenAI-compatible chat completions response. It is best for providers that support `/chat/completions` with `messages`, `model`, `temperature`, and JSON-style responses.
